A stormin' camp
Yet again we had a great bunch of children. All of them were well behaved, attentive and really entered into all the activities. Its always really encouraging at the end of the week to hear so many children talk excitedly to their parents about all that happened, and this year was no exception.
The team of leaders was fantastic. All of them were so commited to giving the children a brilliant holiday. They worked hard all week, and showed so much enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to work well as a team. The team spirit was sky high and everyone really supported and encouraged each other.
This year our theme was 'The J Team', where we looked at Jesus and 5 of his 12 disciples. It was great to learn together about the types of people Jesus chose to be in his team, how they responded to him and what it means for each of us to also become part of His team.
For those of you who have read postings on this blog you will be fully aware of the incredible storm we had on Wednesday night. It was simply awesome (although a little scary at the time!), cutting the power to the school for 17 hours and flooding half of 2 of the girls dormitories. Yet again the team worked so hard to calm the children and ensure that they all had a dry bed to sleep in that night. Whilst it was not an event we would like repeated, we were thankful to God for his protection on all of us.
Well thats about it for 2006. We hope you have enjoyed reading our blog and will come back next year to follow the life of CUTS 2007!
